Korea and Japan Trip 2017 #10 - Banpo Bridge
00:17It was our last day in Seoul before leaving for Busan. We wanted to take it easy and since it was pretty hot, we stayed in Myeongdong and went shopping searching for some short pants, skirts, dresses, shirts, tops or whatever makes us cool down a bit.
Meanwhile we played Dark Stories. That's an app in that one presents a short story and the other player may ask questions that can only be answered with "yes", "no" or "invalid question". Using those hints, you have to solve a mystery of a criminal case. The goal is to find out who the murderer is or the reason why the person died. It's fun since most of the cases are pretty tricky or simply stupid.
The Banpo Bridge or Rainbow Bridge was our plan for the night. It has the world's longest bridge fontain and plays different shows during day and night. I don't know how it looks during the day but as soon as the sun goes down, hundreds of lights illuminate the fountain as it sends up dancing, rainbow-colored jets of water in the air that synchronize with music that is played out aloud. The fountain has special operating hours and one show has a duration of 15 minutes, so make sure to check the timetable online before going there.
We noticed that there are lots of students that gather at night to have some fun time with their friends. Many bring blankets and tons of food to have a picnic while drinking lots of soju. Ah~ this looked like so much fun and I wished we would have been able to join them but we had to leave early to head back to our hotel. Busan was waiting for us!
